2005 Theme
The elders have presented
quite a challenge for us this year. It is a challenge that we
should already have undertaken as Christians; working together
(joined, knit), doing our own part (every joint supplies) for
the edification of the whole as presented in the above verses
from Ephesians 4:15-16.
Ask yourself, how can I
help? What is it that I can do that would be for the good of
the body? What talents do I have that would be useful?
Can I say something nice to
someone, encourage them?
Can I teach a class?
Can I have one of the members into my home?
Can I write cards of encouragement or sympathy?
Can I cook meals for those that may need some help?
Can I be an example?
Can I visit the sick?
Can I smile and shake someone's hand?
We might think that some of
these duties are meaningless or miniscule, but each one is
important in the Lord's work. We need people to smile and say
kind things as much as we need someone to teach a class or
preach a sermon. You are important in the Lord's work! You
are important to the Lord! You are important to the members
that meet at Embry Hills! Please continue to work with us and
help us as we strive to please God by each one doing our part,
working together for the whole.
